About 65 companies have stopped airing their ads on The Rush Limbaugh Show following the talk show host's late February attacks on a female Georgetown law student that many viewed as misogynist. The attacks were in response to her position on health insurance coverage for birth control.

Papa John's has joined that list of dropped advertisers, according to PoliticusUSA.com.

Other companies, including Little Caesars, Subway, McDonald's, and Domino's Pizza have specifically asked to have their ads scheduled in dayparts or programs free of content deemed to be controversial, including during The Rush Limbaugh Show.

On March 29, a Papa John's follower tweeted: "@PapaJohns oh my! You air ads on rush Limbaugh? I love the spinach Alfredo pizza, so I really hope this ad was a mistake. #boycottrush."

The company responded: "We're looking into this and will discontinue advertising during this show as soon as possible. Thank you for your concern."

In late March, Wendy's also experienced an influx of fans commenting on its Facebook page, expressing disappointment about having ads aired during Limbaugh's program. The quick-service chain responded to every such comment with:

"We target our radio ads based on airtime, not individual program. That said, we're aware of the issue and we're looking into solving it. We appreciate your business and value you as a customer."

And: "We do not buy national radio programs (Rush or any other). Some local markets run radio ads around lunch, but typically not within specific programs. If you let us know where you heard the ad, we'd be glad to pass your comment onto the local market. We appreciate the feedback!"
