Throughout May, Uno's is hosting a celebration each week to honor local heroes. The celebrations will include a 15-percent discount.
"Throughout the month of May, we'll open our doors wide to show our appreciation to those people who help improve our lives and keep us safe each and every day," said Frank Guidara, CEO of UNO's and a military veteran. "Sometimes, it's just the right thing to do to honor those who do the real work of teaching us, and protecting our health, safety and freedom."
Uno's appreciation week celebrations will expand upon select national appreciation weeks in May as follows:
- Teacher Appreciation Week: Today through May 4;
- Medical Professionals: May 7 through May 11;
- Police and Dispatchers: May 14 through May 18;
- EMS and Firefighters: May 21 through May 25; and
- Military: May 28 through June 1.
During these weeks, each group will receive 15 percent off their check (not including alcohol) during their specified week (Monday through Friday only) when they show identification (examples: badges, business cards, uniforms, etc.).
"We do our best to live by the credo 'We Care,'" Guidara said. "It's just one more expression of our hospitality – the way we want to treat everyone we come in contact with – whether in our restaurants or in the community."
Based in Boston, Uno Restaurant Holdings Corporation includes 150 company-owned and franchised restaurants located in 24 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Honduras, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
