To help meet consumers' growing demand for quality coffee products, Farmer Brothers unveiled its Artisan Collection line of Rainforest Alliance-certified coffees during the 2012 National Restaurant Association Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show in Chicago, May 5-8.
"Artisan Collection by Farmer Brothers is a demonstration of our unique ability to develop authentic, hand-crafted specialty coffee at scale," said newly appointed Farmer Brothers president and CEO Michael Keown. "We are excited to be putting micro-roaster quality into a national DSD network."
The collection is packaged in valved single-brew portion packs as well as five-pound bulk bags. The line will be available in August and supports both hot and cold beverage applications.
"As Farmer Brothers transitions into its next 100 years, we are creating a new vision based on the original pillars of innovation and personalization that drove the company when it was founded in 1912," Keown said.
The line was developed through additional company capabilities brought together through its 2009 acquisition of Sara Lee Direct-Store Delivery Foodservice and the 2007 purchase of Portland, Ore.-based specialty-coffee roaster Coffee Bean International.
