Domino's Pizza UK has gotten a boost from rainy weather and the Euro 2012 soccer championships, both of which kept people at home and ordering pizzas.

According to Reuters, the chain's results from the first six months of 2012 included a 13.2 percent increase in profits to 21.5 million pounds ($33.6 million U.S.).

In addition to the bottom line lift, Domino's UK experienced a 43.3 percent sales bump from online orders. Now more than half of delivered orders in the country come from online channels.

Domino's opened 23 new units during the six-month period, for a total of 748. The company is on target to open 60 new stores in the UK this year, and 12 new Germany stores.
