Duke Marketing LLC has announced that LSM-U, Local Store Marketing University, an educational program devised to enhance restaurant marketer's ability to implement local store marketing strategies, will be offered as an educational session at the Western Foodservice Expo, Aug. 13 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
LSM-U is a featured session of the 2012 Western Foodservice & Hospitality Expo and the Ferdinand Metz Foodservice Forum. A donation of $5 to benefit the California Restaurant Association Educational Foundation will be accepted at the door of LSM-U to support ProStart, an industry-driven high school culinary arts and hospitality management program.
The LSM-U educational session will be led by restaurant marketing expert Linda Duke, and covers restaurant marketing competition and defending your position, tried and true promotions, incorporating sustainability, integrating new media into your marketing plan, extending LSM through social media, food marketing, public relations and publicity stunts. LSM-U provides operators with guidelines and recommendations to generate awareness, increase traffic and sales by following a 9- to- 12-month local store marketing plan.
Duke also will be a featured speaker of "Executive Marketing Insights" at the expo on Aug. 12 at 12:30 p.m.

"It's a win-win for attendees, who are interested in learning more about marketing, and the foundation."
Duke is a member of the board of directors of the California Restaurant Association's Educational Foundation (CRAEF) and is one of the founding board members of the National Restaurant Association's Fast Casual Industry Council (FCIC). She is author of "Four Star Marketing Cookbook—Recipes for Restaurateurs."
