A Jet's Pizza franchisee has ceased delivery after dark in Detroit following the shooting of one of its delivery drivers.
According to Detroit's CBS Local, Tim McKenna, 19, was shot while delivering pizza at night.
Prior to the incident, Jet's nighttime deliveries included two drivers on every call, one of whom was armed legally. During McKenna's delivery, however, there was no other employee available to assist.
McKenna was robbed of the $35 he had on him at the time, the amount typically carried by the franchise's drivers.
He survived a shot in the ribs and plans to return to college at nearby Adrian College, where he plays football. His athletic career is on hold pending his recovery.
