Flippers Pizzeria was created by two like-minded friends in 1987 in Central Florida. By forming a commissary, they were able to open multiple stores and still maintain consistency and quality. In 1995, with four successful locations opened, they hired a new chef to expand the menu. Today, with even more store locations, the company has made franchising open to others. Last year, Flippers underwent an expansion of catering services and interior renovations, which included free wireless Internet access in store locations, as well as flatscreen TVs. It has also introduced new specialty items to the menu, such as the Vesuvius Pizza, which features a fresh oregano topping, and the Margherita Pizza with fresh Mozzarella cheese, extra virgin olive oil, fresh chopped basil and San Marzano tomatoes.
