A week after announcing its biggest product launch in three years, Domino's Pizza has also added its new pan pizza to menus in Canada. Handmade pan pizzas — thicker than conventional pizzas and cooked in special pans — will now be sold at Domino's stores nationwide.
The dough is fresh and handmade, and the crust is crispy golden with a buttery taste. The new pizza also features toppings to the edge and a new layer of provolone cheese.
"When you think pizza, pan pizza is a consumer favorite that has increasingly grown to be top of mind," said Michael Curran, president at Domino's Canada. "It's only natural that we enter this category in our market."
The pan pizza has been two years in development and will initially sell as a medium with two toppings for $9.99. The marketing campaign kicked off this week focusing on the item's freshness and handmade quality, versus other pizza chains that use frozen dough for their pan pizzas.
