Pennsylvania-based Fox's Pizza Den raised more than $45,000 during its 11th annual Pizza & Prevention fundraiser.
According to the Punxsutawney Spirit, the funds went toward the Punxsutawney Fire Department.
Fox's Pizza employees sold pizzas and pizza coupons to raise money for the annual campaign.
Scott Anthony, owner of Fox's Pizza Den in Punxsutawney, said about 5,000 pizzas and pizza coupons were sold, with tips still being tallied. Coupon sales generated about 65 percent of the total fundraiser.
Last year's Pizza and Prevention fundraiser raised $34,444.
Fox's Pizza Den started hosting the event in 2001, after the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11. The Big Daddy coupons were sold for $9.11 each.
According to WJAC TV, the fundraiser was created as a way for Anthony to thank firefighters in local communities.
