Detroit Style Pizza Co. will give away one free pizza for every home run hit by the Detroit Tigers during the 2012 World Series.
The prizes will be awarded to the first Facebook fan to post the game score on Detroit Style Pizza Co.'s Facebook page after each home run.
Detroit Style Pizza Co. will also offer its World Series Pizza Deal, a large one-topping pizza for $8.99 during the games. The promotion will be available from the beginning until the end of each World Series game.
"Detroit Style Pizza Co. is a world-class pizzeria, just like the Tigers are a world-class baseball team, and a tradition Detroit can be proud of," said Detroit Style Pizza Co. President Shawn Randazzo. "Of course, we're huge Tigers fans, so we're giving our fellow fans a great deal during the World Series games. When you're cheering for the world's best baseball team, you should have the world's best pizza."
A few other pizza chains are also hosting World Series-themed giveaways. Round Table Pizza, for example, is giving away pizzas to its Facebook fans who guess the first player to hit a home run in each game. During Game One Wednesday night, eight fans were picked to win the free pizza based on the San Francisco Giants score of 8 runs.
