New York City's Grimaldi's Pizzeria plans to debut in California in the spring.

According to the Daily Breeze, the first location will open in El Segundo, and will be one of the largest in the Grimaldi's system, with 280 seats. Six total restaurants are planned in California.

CEO Joey Ciolli said the company is planting its flag there because of an "overwhelming demand by fans."

Grimaldi's currently has restaurants in Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, South Carolina and New Jersey, in addition to its flagship sites in New York.
