Papa John's is bringing back its Super Bowl coin toss promotion for this year's game Feb. 3. However, this year, the chain anticipates a much bigger free pizza giveaway.

Last year's inaugural promotion awarded loyalty members a free large pizza with a popular vote they correctly called on the Super Bowl's coin toss.

This year's campaign allows each fan to vote "heads" or "tails" individually at or on the brand's Facebook page, ensuring a free, large, one-topping pizza for anyone who correctly calls the coin toss.

And, like last year, Papa John's has tapped quarterback Peyton Manning to help pitch the promotion. He joined Papa John's founder/CEO/chairman John Schnatter and sports commentator Jim Nantz on Sunday to unveil the latest promotion.

"Unlike last year when everyone who voted was cheering for 'heads,' this time people tuning in will be cheering for either 'heads' or 'tails,' depending on how they called the coin toss individually," Peyton Manning said in a news release. "This should make it even more fun, and it guarantees that Papa John's will give away more pizzas."

Manning signed on to become a Papa John's franchisee in the Denver market in October.

New this year, Peyton's father and NFL legend Archie Manning joins in as a Papa John's spokesperson.

"First it was Peyton becoming a Papa John's franchisee in Denver, and now it's opening Papa John's Super Bowl XLVII Coin Toss Experience to the individual call of everyone in America," Schnatter said. "I'm confident our promotion is going to add excitement to the Super Bowl, reward Papa John's customers, and provide a lot of positive buzz for our brand."

The Super Bowl coin toss takes place between the singing of the National Anthem and kickoff. Consumers can call "heads" or "tails" for the Super Bowl XLVII coin toss through 11:59 p.m. PST, Feb. 2, the night before the game, at or Papa John's Facebook page. Those who correctly call the coin toss will receive an email Feb. 4 with instructions on how to claim their free pizza.

As a bonus, just for voting, fans will get an offer for 35-percent off their next pizza at through Feb. 2.

Papa John's will remind fans about its Super Bowl XLVII Coin Toss Experience up to game day via an integrated marketing campaign that includes a national television commercial featuring Peyton Manning and Nantz, digital media advertising, social media (#headsortails), print advertising and more.

Papa John's became the Official Pizza of the NFL and Super Bowl in 2010.

    Yah - you can do the big Super Bowl give-away, Papa John, but your CEO threatens to lay off people or cut their hours due to Obamacare. No thanks, Papa Scrooge. Maybe a few less square feet on your mansion could cover health costs for the employees who made you what you are (or aren't). When a CEO offends, his profit descends.
