A soldier currently serving in Afghanistan wanted to surprise his wife for her birthday with her favorite pizza — Mellow Mushroom. So, he emailed the company asking if they would deliver to his address and had his information ready to submit for purchase.
According to his story, recounted on the Mellow Mushroom Facebook page, the company’s general manager in the Jacksonville, Fla., market, J.P. Morgan, responded simply with: “We got you bro.”
The soldier then received photos of Mellow Mushroom’s delivery to his wife, a delivery which included a heart-shaped pizza, a $50 gift card, balloons and flowers.
“I am going to do something nice to pay back this unbelievably thoughtful act of kindness. Thank you so much for this JP, and please pass my thanks along to your team,” the soldier wrote the company.
Since this story appeared on Mellow Mushroom’s Facebook page this morning, it has been liked more than 325 times and has generated numerous, positive comments for the act, including:
"Just read an AWESOME story about your company and what your company did for true hero and decided my kids and I need to come support this y'all and will be coming by for dinner tomorrow evening."
