California Pizza Kitchen has added Colby Red, a California red wine whose proceeds support charities that promote heart health.
The new offering is available by the glass or bottle.
According to CPK's website, Colby Red is a "unique California cuvee of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Shiraz, Merlot and Petite Sirah."
The wine was created to celebrate the life of Colby Rex Groom. When he was 8 years old, he endured back-to-back open heart surgeries. He is now 13. His winemaker father, Daryl Groom, created the wine to raise money to help others.
This year, CPK will also support Colby's cause by donating up to $10,000 to charities that focus on heart health.
