The American Pizza Community (APC) announced that the National Pork Producers Council, Paradise Tomato Kitchens and PepsiCo have joined the coalition as supplier partners, and Askar Brands, which includes Papa's Pizza To-Go, Papa Romano's, Blackjack Pizza and Breadeaux Pizza, have joined as new members.
APC members will meet at this week's International Pizza Expo 2013 in Las Vegas and will be on hand to educate pizza operators and owners about the coalition's efforts to advocate for policies affecting the industry and how pizza can fit into a healthy, balanced diet.
"Those of us who work in the pizza industry recognize the far-reaching impact of our business, with our very broad economic footprint. It's important for pizza companies and our supplier partners to unite together around issues that affect the whole industry," said Lynn Liddle, chair of the APC and executive vice president of Communications, Investor Relations and Legislative Affairs for Domino's Pizza.
The APC was formed to advocate for policies affecting pizza companies and operators including menu and labeling information, fair wages, work opportunity tax credit, background checks, tax policies and small business access to capital.
Current APC members include Blackjack Pizza, Breadeaux Pizza, CiCi's Pizza, Domino's Pizza, Figaro's Italian Pizza, Godfather's Pizza, Hungry Howie's, the International Pizza Hut Franchise Holders Association, Little Caesars, Nick-N-Willy's Pizza, Papa John's Pizza, Papa Murphy's Pizza, Papa's Pizza To-Go, Papa Romano's and Pizza Schmizza. Supplier partners include Coca-Cola, Leprino Foods Company, the National Pork Producers Council, Paradise Tomato Kitchens, PepsiCo, SUTUS and Tyson.
