Punchh Inc., a startup that delivers branded mobile apps and a cloud-based marketing automation platform for restaurants, has been recognized as a winner of the 2013 TiE50 "Top Startup" Award at TiEcon 2013, the world's largest conference for entrepreneurs. Punchh was honored May 18 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California.
"Restaurant marketing is undergoing a sea change as brands compete to reach customers, via mobile and social media," said Jitendra Gupta, CEO of Punchh. "Our goal is to help restaurants engage their customers on smartphones and tap into their friends' networks to drive measurable increases in repeat and new customer traffic. We are honored to be recognized by TiE as one of only six of the most innovative mobile startups in the world."
The TiE program selected 50 winners from a pool of more than 1,100 companies from 24 countries.
"In just four years, the TiE50 program has gained global acclaim attracting startups from all over the world. TiE50 as a brand has gained much recognition among VC and Angel communities — particularly in Silicon Valley. About 110 finalists and winners had successful exits," said Program Chair Ram K. Reddy.
