Truly Organic Pizza is set to open its second location by Aug. 19 on the campus of Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Fla.
The first Truly Organic Pizza opened in 2012 in Naples, Fla. The concept, owned by Jason Chang, is a USDA-certified organic pizzeria with 12 signature pies made fully from organic ingredients — from the crust to the cheese and all the toppings.
Chang said the newest location will open in time for FGCU's fall semester and will be located in the student cafeteria. The full menu will be available for delivery to student housing/faculty buildings, the sports complex and the surrounding Estero/Bonita Springs, Fla., area.
The FGCU unit will include the same menu as the flagship store, as well as four new salads: Honest Caesar, Very Berry Spinach, The Big Chef and the Fabulous Fusilli.
To cater to the college crowed, Chang said pizzas by the slice will be available all day long, with the Classic Cheese slice priced at $1.99.
While the original store is aimed toward an affluent demographic – the most expensive pizza on the menu is the Carnivore at $26.95 – Chang said the concept will also appeal to college students on a compromised budget.
"We don't think of students as affluent, but they are health conscience and cutting edge when it comes to new and better things," he said.
