Pizza restaurant group, OTTO, has announced its "Draw Outside of the Box" design contest, giving students in grades kindergarten through eighth the opportunity to have their design featured on OTTO's pizza boxes, and to win $1,000 for their school's art education needs.

The initiative is designed to promote art education in schools, according to a news release.

The contest, which runs from Sept. 18 to Dec. 18, is open to K-8 students throughout New England, providing each student the opportunity to share their designs with OTTO fans worldwide.

Throughout three months, the public will vote for their favorite entries by 'liking' the designs on OTTO's Facebook page ( The 30 designs with the most likes will then be judged by a panel of design experts (including Scott Nash, illustrator of Flat Stanley). First ($1,000), second, and third prizes will be awarded by the panel.

The winning student's design will be professionally printed on thousands of OTTO pizza boxes in multiple locations throughout New England. The contest is made possible in part by the support of Colony Foods and Breakwater School.
