October 23, 2013 – The Houston Business Journal announced on Wednesday, October 16th that Revention, Inc. has been chosen for the publication’s annual Best Places to Work award, a highly sought-after accolade within Houston’s business community.
2013 proved to be HBJ’s most competitive year ever for Best Places to Work. Companies were selected not only on the basis of being top performers in their industries, but were also evaluated for the amount of value they place on their talented employees. To obtain this information, employees of the nominated companies were surveyed by a third party firm, Quantum Workplace, which issued each company a score based on employees’ anonymous answers. All employees of the nominated companies were given the opportunity to take the confidential survey online.
Employees evaluated their company in areas such as goals and leadership, communication and support, advancement opportunity and skill development, recognition and compensation, tolerance and flexibility and embracing innovation and ideas. Being a Best Place to Work also involves giving back to the community, so this characteristic was assessed, along with the importance placed on fun and a deep sense of teamwork in the workplace.
Each firm was required to have scored at least an 85 on its employee survey to be named a finalist, and even then HBJ still had more companies on their list than ever before. The list of finalists was then narrowed down to 100 by HBJ based on industry performance, as well emphasis on team work and philanthropy.
Revention equates company success with employee satisfaction and is proud to have been named a Best Place to Work by HBJ. Revention’s company culture promotes fun, laughter, and sharing. The result is a cohesive team unit that continuously produces exceptional work. Office perks include an arcade room, on-site professional massage therapist, great benefits, travel opportunities, frequent company gatherings, weekly catered events and a lively work atmosphere.
