Domino's Pizza UK is paying for the flights of family members of an employee who was murdered. Sheffield employee Thavisha Lakindu Peiris was attacked last weekend during a pizza delivery, and died from his stab wounds.

Thavisha's father, Sarath Mahinda Peiris, mother Sudarma Narangoda, and brother Pramod Chetheka Peiris will fly to Sheffield from their Sri Lanka home in the coming days.

According to a news release, South Yorkshire Police launched a murder investigation after Sri Lankan-born Thavisha, 25, was found dead at the wheel of his silver Toyota Yaris outside the address in Southey Crescent, Sheffield, at around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 27.

"All of us are shocked and deeply saddened by his senseless death and our thoughts go out to his colleagues, friends and family. His family being so far away adds to the pain of this tragic situation and bringing them over to the UK is of paramount importance," said Lance Batchelor, CEO of Domino's UK.

"Thavisha was a very popular employee and wholly dedicated to his job with us which he greatly enjoyed. Customers of ours get to know their delivery drivers fairly well so this tragedy has hit many people very hard indeed."

Many of Domino's UK's social media fans have expressed condolences to the company and Thavisha's family after the incident was announced on Facebook.

On Oct. 30, the company posted: We're deeply shocked and saddened by the senseless murder of our colleague Thavisha. Our thoughts are with his family & friends."
