Papa Murphy's International has named Jenifer Anhorn chief marketing officer. Anhorn -- currently with Periscope, which has handled Papa Murphy's marketing for years -- will be responsible for leading Papa Murphy's brand and marketing strategies.
Anhorn has described her upcoming duties with the company as more holistic in nature, even involved in business development. Specifically, she will direct system-wide advertising and promotions, consumer research, product development, media buying and public relations. She will report to John Barr, Papa Murphy's chairman and CEO.
One of her first items of businesses, Anhorn said, will be to expand the brand's digital marketing initiatives to meet old and new customers where they are increasingly flocking.
"We're not shifting our targeting at all, but making sure we are staying current with how the younger generations communicate," said Anhorn in a news release. "So it is shifting marketing mix to keep with the times."
Previously, Anhorn was with Minneapolis-based Periscope, where she worked for the past 17 years developing marketing programs for several franchise retail concepts. For the past five years, Anhorn worked as strategic lead over Papa Murphy's national branding and advertising and managed media planning and buying relationships with several dozen local Papa Murphy's co-ops.
"Jenifer has already added tremendous value to the Papa Murphy's brand, and we are looking forward to her expanded leadership to help profitably grow sales and successfully enter new markets," said Barr. "She has a proven track record of delivering results and has garnered a high degree of trust with our franchise community."
