During the company's annual Valentine's Day fundraiser, all Boston's restaurants across the United States will sell heart-shaped pizzas and desserts, and will donate $1 from each item sold to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRF).
Additionally, customers can purchase paper hearts for $1 each and personalize them with a Valentine's Day message. The paper hearts and various desserts will be sold Jan. 11 – Feb. 14, and the heart-shaped pizza and heart-shaped dessert promotion will take place Valentine's Day weekend, Feb. 12–14. All money raised will benefit JDRF research.
"Working with charitable organizations is a cornerstone of Boston's, and it provides an opportunity for local franchisees to engage, support and give back to the communities they serve," said Mike Best, Boston's chief operating officer. "We hope to surpass last year's benchmark of $31,000 as we continue our partnership with JDRF to raise awareness and funding for type 1 diabetes research."
This Valentine's tradition started 11 years ago by Boston's parent company, Boston Pizza in Canada. This will mark the second year the Boston's system in the United States will partner with the JDRF. In 2009, the U.S. Boston's Valentine's promotion raised $31,041 for JDRF.
