FireFly, developers of the Phoenix point-of-sale system, has announced it has teamed up with MobiDines to make it easier for customers to achieve instant gratification in mobile ordering. The initiative involves a customized ordering system that enables mobile phone users to instantly place delivery and to-go orders.
Customers will be able to download their menus directly onto their phones and place orders from anywhere with the new technology. Phoenix POS users also can send news about their upcoming specials or events, provide directions to their restaurant, and get feedback from customers.
The application already is being used by San Francisco-based Extreme Pizza.
"As the mobile app market continues to rapidly grow, so does our consumers' demand for more convenient ways to order from Extreme Pizza," Jim Ryan, SVP of Marketing for Extreme Pizza, said in a news release. "The new MobiDines application allows us to offer a new on-the-go way of ordering. Customer service is our number one priority, and we expect this new mobile app to keep our customers happy and coming back for more on a regular basis."
MobiDines integrates directly with the Phoenix POS system, so all orders print directly to the make-line printer. Operators also can track and edit MobiDines orders in the Phoenix system.
MobiDines securely sends customers' payment information to the Phoenix system, or lets customers pay at the restaurant. Integrated credit card payment processing will soon be available to MobiDines customers with iPhone and BlackBerry devices.
