Yum! Brands Inc. is scheduled to report earnings for its fiscal third quarter today after the market closes, and analysts predict a positive margin, recommend a "hold" rating for the parent company of KFC, Long John Silvers, Pizza Hut and more.
According to industry insider blog Taragana.com:
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters on average expect the company to earn 58 cents per share for the quarter on revenue of $2.79 billion.
This year has been a mixed bag for Yum! Brands, which has predicted a 10 percent increase for the full year over last. Weakened U.S. and China markets have been counterbalanced by aggressive expansion overseas, lower commodity costs and the success of KFC's Kentucky Grilled Chicken in the second quarter.
Yum! shares fell 4.8 percent during the quarter that ended Sept. 5, ending at $34.04. They rose 5.1 percent to close at $34.85 Monday.
