In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, Hungry Howie's Pizza will donate a percentage of its October sales to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. The final donation will be based on the total volume or sales of pizzas sold this month.
"It looks like we'll be able to generate, conservatively, over $100,000 [for the foundation]," marketing manager David Krolicki said.
The chain's executives decided to partner with this particular non-profit foundation because "breast cancer doesn't discriminate," according to Jeff Rinke, vice president of marketing and product development. He said the company wanted to help those who didn't have the money for proper care or screenings, problems the charity helps to alleviate.
