Block cheese prices on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange averaged slightly above $1.29 per pound last week, up 2 cents from the previous week.
Block cheese closed at $1.27 per pound Monday and Tuesday, just above $1.28 per pound on Wednesday, just above $1.30 per pound on Thursday and $1.33 per pound Friday.
Prices are off 68 cents, or 35 percent, compared with this time last year, when block cheese averaged $1.97 per pound. Wheat Wheat for December delivery closed at just under $4.77 per bushel Friday on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange. Prices for wheat for September delivery closed at $4.73 per bushel on Monday. Wheat for December deliver closed at just under $5 per bushel Tuesday and Wednesday and just above $5 per bushel Thursday. Gasoline and diesel fuel The nationwide average for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.55 per gallon Sept. 21, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, off 2 cents from the previous week. Prices are off 3 percent from an average of $2.63 per gallon a month ago and off 32 percent from an average of $3.76 per gallon this time last year. Mid-range unleaded averaged $2.71 per gallon while premium unleaded stood at $2.81 per gallon. The nationwide average price for diesel fuel stood at $2.66 per gallon Sept. 21, off a penny from last week. Diesel prices are off 36 percent from an average of $4.13 per gallon this time last year. Natural gas spot prices increased sharply this report week amid some indications of improvement in the economy, according to the Energy Information Administration. The largest price increases generally occurred in the western half of the country. The Henry Hub spot price increased by 56 cents to $3.28 per million Btu.

Papa John's stock closed at $24.80, up $1.11 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $23.69. PZZA traded at a 52-week high of $30.68 in September 2008 and a 52-week low of $12.78 in November 2008. Shares in CEC Entertainment Inc., parent company of Chuck E. Cheese restaurants, closed at $28.54, up 96 cents compared with the previous week's close of $27.58. CEC traded at a 52-week high of $39.59 in September 2008 and a 52-week low of $12.96 in November 2008. California Pizza Kitchen closed at $16.60 on Sept. 18, up $2.63 compared with the previous week's close of $13.97. CPKI has traded as high as $17.44 in mid-April and as low as $5.24 in November 2008. Pizza Inn closed at $1.80 on Sept. 18, up 11 cents compared with the previous week's close of $1.69. PZZI traded at a 52-week high of $2.72 in October 2008 and a 52-week low of 98 cents in April 2009.
