Cheese continues to slide

Cheese   Block cheese prices continued their downward trend last week on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, averaging just above $1.37 per pound, off 5 cents from the previous week's average.   Prices closed at $1.39 per pound on Monday, just above $1.38 per pound on Tuesday, just above $1.36 per pound Wednesday, $1.36 per pound on Thursday and $1.37 per pound on Friday.    Cheese prices are up 19 percent compared with last year, when they averaged $1.15 per pound.   Wheat   Prices for wheat on the Minneapolis Grain Exchange closed at just under $5.02 per bushel last Friday, off 12 cents from the previous Friday's close of $5.14.   Wheat prices closed at just under $4.87 on Monday, just above $4.89 on Tuesday, just above $4.86 per bushel Wednesday and just above $4.90 per bushel on Thursday.   Gasoline and diesel fuel   The nationwide average for regular unleaded gasoline was $2.70 per gallon June 14, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, off cents from the previous week.   Prices are off 6 percent from an average of $2.88 per gallon a month ago and up 2 percent from an average of $2.66 per gallon this time last year. Mid-range unleaded currently averages $2.87 per gallon while premium unleaded as of June 14 stood at $2.97 per gallon.   The nationwide average price for diesel fuel stood at $2.96 per gallon June 14, off 3 cents from the previous week. Diesel prices are up 15 percent from an average of $2.58 per gallon this time last year.   Natural gas   Since Wednesday, June 2, natural gas prices rose at all market locations in the lower 48 States, with increases generally ranging between 30 and 40 cents per million Btu. The Henry Hub spot price rose 43 cents during the week from $4.32 to $4.75 per MMBtu.
 
Pizza company stocks   Shares in Pizza Hut parent Yum! Brands Inc. closed at $42 on June 11, up $1.14  compared with the previous week's close of $40.86. YUM traded at a 52-week high of $44 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $32.24 in May 2009.   Domino's closed at $12.67, off 2 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $12.69. DPZ has traded as high as $16.32 in May 2010 and as low as $7.05 in July 2009, over the past 52 weeks.   Papa John's stock closed at $24.58, up 14 cents compared with the previous Friday's close of $24.60. PZZA traded at a 52-week high of $28.84 in May 2010 and a 52-week low of $21.44 in December 2009.   Shares in CEC Entertainment Inc., parent company of Chuck E. Cheese restaurants, closed at $39, off 18 cent compared with the previous week's close of $13.18. CEC traded at a 52-week high of $41.79 in April 2010 and a 52-week low of $24.69 in October 2009.   California Pizza Kitchen closed at $18.62 on June 11, up 94 cents from the previous week's close of $17.68. CPKI traded as high as $22.92 in May 2010 and as low as $12.29 in December 2009.   Pizza Inn closed at $1.80 on June 11, unchanged from the previous week's close. PZZI traded at a 52-week high of $2.25 in March 2010 and a 52-week low of $1.46 in July 2009.
