3Q net falls at Chuck E. Cheese parent

IRVING, Texas — Comparable-store sales at CEC Entertainment Inc.'s Chuck E. Cheese restaurants fell 2.5 percent in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, the company announced. Year-to-date, comps declined 1.1 percent.
 
Revenues for the third quarter were $197.5 million, up slightly from revenues of $194.7 million in the 2006 third quarter. The increase was primarily due to new store development, the company said.
 
Revenues for the first nine months of 2007 increased to $610.2 million, up 12 percent from $597.8 million in the first nine months of 2006.
 
Net income for the quarter was $15.9 million, down 7 percent from $17.2 million in the 2006 third quarter. Year to date, net income was $56.5 million, up slightly compared with net income of $56.2 million in the same period of 2006.
