Airports to showcase leasing options for restaurants, retail

Sept. 20, 2013

A forum designed to teach local, regional and national retailers, quick-service food operators and restaurateurs about the leasing opportunities at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Washington Dulles International Airport is set for 10 a.m., Oct. 1. MarketPlace Development, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, will host the Concessions Leasing Outreach Forum at the Residence Inn Arlington Capital View Hotel at 2850 South Potomac Avenue in Arlington, Va.

"Our goal is to find cutting-edge brands and innovative retail and restaurant concepts to meet the needs of the traveling public. We invite everyone interested in doing business at the airports," said Paul McGinn, president of MarketPlace Development. More than 300 people attended the Spring Outreach Forum for the first phase of leasing.

Both airport environments present a smart opportunity for merchants to benefit from captive passenger traffic and a strong demand for quality dining and shopping, according to a company press release. More than 42 million passengers traveled through Washington's Airports in 2012, with Reagan Airport yielding more than 19.7 million passengers and Dulles Airport boasting more than 22.6 million domestic and international passengers.

Registration is required by Sept. 26 at either ReaganFoodandShops.com/Leasing or DullesFoodandShops.com/Leasing.
