American Flatbreads expanding to Tribeca

Vermont-based American Flatbreads is expanding to Manhattan’s trendy TriBeCa neighborhood as early as December.

DNAInfo reports that the newest unit — there are currently six in Vermont, Oregon and Virginia — will be franchised by Billy Reilly, who owns Tribeca Rooftop.

American Flatbreads features locally-sourced ingredients for its pizzas, which are cooked in a wood-fired oven.

The Manhattan restaurant will serve breakfast, the first in the system to do so, and offer catering. Reilly also anticipates hosting private parties and community charity events.

American Flatbread signatures served in Vermont include the Cheese and Herb, with fine Vermont Mozzarella, Blythedale Farm asiago, Italian Grana Padano, garlic oil and fresh herbs; and the New Vermont Sausage, with Duclos and Thompson Farm fresh pork in a homemade nitrate-free, maple fennel sausage baked with sundried tomatoes, caramelized onions, mushrooms, cheeses and herbs.

There are also salads, specials, house-brewed beer and a variety of draught and bottled beer choices.
