Another top-your-own pizza concept pops up

Crush Pizzeria Napoletana is the latest concept to popup featuring the top-your-own setup. The growth of this subsegment of the pizza space has been staggering throughout the past two or so years.

Crush Pizzeria Napoletana was inspired by the chute queue of Chipotle, according to the BostInnO. It first opened in Nashua, N.H., and this week added a Boston location in the city's Financial District.

Crush's menu includes specialty pizzas such as the Bourbon BBQ Chicken, Pesto Blast and Toscana. It also features a top-your-own option with a variety of cheeses to choose from (gorgonzola, ricotta, feta, for example), and meat (prosciutto, Tuscan shrimp, etc.), veggies and toppings (truffle cream, etc.). The pizzas are then baked in a wood-fired oven at 900 degrees for about 90 seconds.

The menu also includes Italian desserts, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, beer and wine. Takeout is available.
