Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza promotes four execs

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza has promoted four executives to support its expansion plans.

Pat Marzano was named president/CFO, Charles Locke, Jr. was appointed COO, Kevin L. May was promoted to VP of Finance/Controller and Chris Fusaro was appointed regional VP of Operations.

Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza was founded in Fort Lauderdale in 2002 and has grown to 39 locations, all company owned, throughout Florida, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Connecticut. Anthony's is planning several more openings this year and throughout 2014.

Marzano, formerly Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza's SVP/CFO, is an equity partner and member of the company's board. A Certified Public Accountant with more than 40 years of experience, Marzano previously was a shareholder in Star Services Inc., a Florida-based public company. He also founded and was a shareholder for more than three decades in the CPA firm, Geller, Marzano and Company. Marzano has been an integral part of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza since its inception and, among other responsibilities, will oversee the brand's growth in established and new markets. He is a graduate of St. John's University in Queens, N.Y.

Previously Anthony's SVP of Operations, Locke began his career with S&A Restaurant Corporation's Bennigan's division and was Area Developer for Family Sports Concepts, where he helped establish the Beef O'Brady's brand throughout Florida. Locke joined Anthony's in 2008 and has been instrumental in the opening of nearly 30 locations. In his new position, Locke will oversee all operations for current and future Anthony's restaurants. Locke graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

May joined Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza as corporate controller in 2011 after nearly two decades in the waste industry. He began his career as an internal auditor at Curtis Noll Corporation, an automotive aftermarket distributor, and then as Controller for R.C. Cola's Tampa division. Most recently, he was Florida regional controller for Attwoods Inc. and BFI, as well as Florida Division Controller for USA Waste. May's new role will include increased responsibilities in the company's accounting and financial reporting.

Fusaro has been a member of the company's Northeast expansion team. He served as general manager of the White Plains, N.Y., and Edison, N.J., restaurants before being promoted to Northeast regional manager in 2011. In his new position, Fusaro will oversee Anthony's 16 locations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut and Delaware, as well as future restaurants. Previously, he was director of Human Resource Recruiting for the Forum Group, a New York-based recruiting firm. Fusaro is a graduate of St. John's University.
