LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- A May 22 Yum! Brands release reported domestic same-store sales declined 4 percent at Pizza Hut for the four-week period ending May 18.
The news was better for its sister brands, Taco Bell (up 7 percent) and KFC (up 2 percent), making for a blended gain of 1 percent. International same-store sales for the trio were up 7 percent after conversion to U.S. dollars.
May has been a busy month for Yum! Brands. The company changed its name from Tricon Global following the completion of its $320 million acquisition of Long John Silver's and A&W All-American Food chains. And continuing its strong 2002 performance, the company's stock split two-for-one.
