Bacon Bowls to appear on restaurant menus?

March 14, 2014

The Perfect Bacon Bowl announced today that its edible bacon bowls are now available for restaurants. The company said its wholesale availability to restaurants and foodservice operators is in response to "a wave of inquiries" after the product appeared at large retailers such as Walmart.

The company suggests using the bowls for a variety of offerings, including macaroni and cheese, salads, eggs, and ice cream.

New York's Ellen's Stardust Diner has devoted a section of its menu to Perfect Bacon Bowl dishes, including a bowl filled with truffled eggs and mushrooms, and a twice baked potato-filled bowl topped with cheddar and sour cream, according to a news release.

"We saw it, tried it, and knew we had to get it on the menu, pronto," said Mark DelBene, general manager of the diner. "We're always looking for new ways to delight our guests, and knew we had a hit on our hands from moment one."

"Perfect Bacon Bowl is a textbook case of the right product coming along at just the right time," said Scott Boilen, CEO of Allstar Products Group, the brand's parent company. "What's so terrific is the feedback we get from people who buy, and consistently tell us how it surpassed their expectations for performance and ease of use."

The Perfect Bacon Bowl retails for about $10.99.
