Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza announced that its 40th restaurant is set to open next month in San Diego. The company also announced it has signed nine new area development agreements that will add 67 franchise restaurants to its pipeline.
Blaze Pizza now has commitments to open 315 company-owned and franchised units in 33 states and Washington, D.C., according to a news release. Of the 315 units in the pipeline, approximately 125 are planned to be open by the end of 2015.
The first Blaze Pizza restaurant opened on Aug. 6, 2012 in Irvine, Calif. With the opening of the 40th location, Blaze Pizza will be operating restaurants in 11 states including the major metropolitan areas of Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. For the remainder of the year, the company is on track to open one new restaurant every four days, both in existing markets and four new states.
"We lead the category in both number of locations and rate of growth," COO Jim Mizes said in the release. "More importantly, we lead the category in defining the best overall guest experience -- which includes exceptional pizza, lightning fast speed of service and appealing restaurant design. We believe that our focused attention against these three key areas will help Blaze Pizza to not only differentiate itself, but also to deliver the highest average unit sales volumes in the category."
Blaze will open its 17th Southern California location, in Brea Mall, on Sept. 4. To celebrate the grand opening, the Brea location will offer free pizzas on Sept. 5 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. to anyone who follows Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
A second Brea location, at Gateway Shopping Center (103 West Imperial Highway), will open in late 2014.
