Tony Palombino, the creator of Louisville, Ky.-based Boombozz Famous Pizza, is launching a "better burger" concept in the Louisville market.
BoomBurger will open in April in a location currently occupied by Tony Boombozz Pizza & Vino, which will relocate to another part of the city as a Boombozz Pizza & Taphouse.
BoomBurger will be a fast casual restaurant featuring a method of cooking dubbed "The Boom Press," which utilizes a special tool used to create the perfect burger.
BoomBurgers will start with a one-third or half-pound ball of 100-percent Angus beef—fresh, not frozen—seared and seasoned on a flat grill and served on a butter-toasted artisan bun. The restaurant also will serve BoomBoom chicken, Boomdogs and Boomsalads, with sides like fried pickles and hand-cut fries and onion rings.
"I am thrilled to introduce BoomBurger to Louisville," Palombino said. "I can't wait to bring BoomBurger to our community, where we will strive to become Louisville's better burger place."
