RICHMOND, British Columbia -- Boston Pizza International Inc., announced on June 19 it signed its first franchise agreement in Mexico.
This marks the second international venture for the company; it has a half dozen stores in the U.S., in addition to more than 150 in Canada.
The announcement did not detail where that first store would be located.
"Casual dining is starting to grow in Mexico and the restaurant and sports bar concept is a great combination that will fit into the market there," said Boston Pizza CEO and owner, Jim Treliving. "We know we can duplicate the success that Boston's has had in Canada and the United States."
Boston Pizza International franchises its U.S., and soon to be Mexican, locations through Boston Pizza Restaurants, LP and operates the restaurants under the name Boston's the Gourmet Pizza. In Canada, locations are franchised through an affiliated entity and operate under the name of Boston Pizza.
