Burke completes expansion of pizza toppings plant

NEVADA, Iowa — Burke Corporation, a leading manufacturer of fully cooked meat toppings and fillings, announced the completion of a two-year-long expansion project to increase capacity, improve operational efficiency and further advance its food safety programs.

According to a news release, the plant expansion will enable the firm to increase its annual production of fully cooked meats by 60 million pounds. The expansion includes a new corporate headquarters and wastewater treatment facility, expanded freezer space, and an addition to the processing plant. The massive facility now spans 239,000 square-feet.
