Canadian Domino's Pizza franchisee still struggling in fiscal ''05

CALGARY, Alberta — Canada's Pizza Delivery Corp., an owner-franchisee of 246 Domino's Pizza stores, posted negative but improving full-year figures for fiscal 2004 and Q1 2005.

According to a news release, revenue for fiscal '04, ended March 28, 2004, was CAN $12.1 million (U.S. $9.4 million) on systemwide sales of CAN $122.8 million (U.S. $95.2 million), an increase of nearly 25 percent. The boost came on the heels of an acquisition of 13 Domino's stores during the period. For the year, the company posted a loss of CAN $674,000 (U.S. $522,278).

For Q1 '05, ended June 27, 2004, revenue was CAN $3.8 million (U.S. $2.94 million) on sales of CAN $31.7 million (U.S. $24.6 million), a jump of nearly 57 percent. The company lost CAN $104,000 (U.S. $80,588) in the period.
