Canadian Domino's Pizza franchisee struggles through first three quarters

CALGARY, Alberta—Canada's Pizza Delivery Corp. (CPDC), 235-unit Domino's Pizza franchisee, announced that sales for the first 39 weeks of its fiscal year ended Dec. 28, 2003, were CAN $91 million (U.S. $67.7 million), down 0.4 percent compared to CAN $91.4 million (U.S. $68 million) for the same period in 2002. Revenue rose 24 percent, however to CAN $8.3 million (U.S. $6.2 million), compared to CAN $6.7 million (U.S. $5 million) in 2002.

The company's third quarter sales (for the 13 weeks ended Dec. 28) were CAN $32.4 million (U.S. $24.1 million), down 1.8 percent compared to CAN $33 million (U.S. $24.5 million) in 2002. Revenue for the period rose 33.9 percent to CAN $3.5 million (U.S. $2.6 million), compared to CAN $2.6 million (U.S. $1.9 million) in 2002.
