CEC Entertainment marketing VP announces retirement

Richard T. Huston, CEC Entertainment Inc.’s executive vice president, marketing and entertainment, has announced his intention to retire from the company later this year once a successor has been named and fully transitioned into the position.

CEC Entertainment, parent company of Chuck E. Cheese’s, also will look to fill Huston’s spot on the board of directors once his current term expires this year.

Huston has served as EVP, marketing and entertainment, since November 2006. Prior, he served as EVP of Marketing from July 1986 to October 2006. He joined CEC Entertainment in 1985 and has served as a member of the board of directors since 1999.

“Dick has been an important leader at Chuck E. Cheese’s for over 25 years. It is evident to everybody who works with Dick that his character and integrity are beyond reproach and his marketing and entertainment expertise has been an integral part of developing the Chuck E. Cheese’s brand in the United States and around the world,” said Michael H. Magusiak, president and CEO of CEC Entertainment.

Huston has guided the company’s marketing, advertising and concept evolution, including devising strategies that helped fuel the recognition of Chuck E. Cheese’s, Magusiak said.

“I’m proud to have been part of the team that has built Chuck E. Cheese’s into the iconic national brand that it is. Chuck E. Cheese’s is truly the family destination Where a Kid can be a Kid,” Huston said.
