Feb. 24, 2008
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Papa John's has declared the week leading up to Feb. 29 as "Leap Week."

To mark the rare calendar occasion, Papa John's is giving away a free, one-topping Papa's Perfect Pan pizza to those born on Leap Day, Feb. 29. To redeem the offer, the pizza must be ordered online via the Papa John's Web site and picked up at their neighborhood Papa John's to verify date of birth.   There are an estimated 200,000 Americans with a Feb. 29 birthday. The offer is void where prohibited, available at participating restaurants

Also in honor of Leap Day and their BRKLYN-style pizza, Domino's will throw a pizza party for every family with a child born on Feb. 29, 2008, who names that child Brooklyn. The family of the first child named Brooklyn born in the continental U.S. on Leap Day will receive $1,000 in pizza gift certificates.

All forms of the spelling Brooklyn will be accepted.

Consumers will be asked to present a copy of their child's birth certificate clearly stating their child's name, time of birth and the birth date as Feb. 29, 2008.

The birth certificate that has the earliest time of the birth posted on it will receive $1,000 in pizza gift certificates. Other babies named Brooklyn on Leap Day will receive a pizza party.

A large, one topping BRKLYN pizza is available at Domino's for $9.99.
