IRVING, Texas -- Comparable-store sales at CEC Restaurants Inc., parent company of Chuck E. Cheese, increased 5.7 percent for the second quarter ended June 29, 2008.
Revenues for the quarter increased 7 percent to $192.5 million compared with revenue of $179.9 million for the 2007 second quarter. Year-to-date, revenues were $437.7 million, up 6 percent compared with revenues of $412.7 million for the first six months of last year.
Net income for the quarter was $11.3 million, up 33 percent compared with net income of $8.5 million for the 2007 second quarter. Year to date net income was $44.2 million, up 9 percent compared with net income of $40.6 million for the same period last year.
CEC is projecting comparable store-sales growth of 2 percent to 3 percent for the second half of 2008, company officials said.
