TYLER, Texas--An informal survey found that college students like the flavor of Pizza Hut's new lower-fat, lower-calorie Fit 'N Delicious pizza (see related story Pizza Hut trimming fat with new Fit 'N Delicious pizzas).
According to a report on KLTV.com, several students at the University of Texas at Tyler were asked to try the lower-fat, lower-calorie pizza (read less cheese, leaner meats and more vegetables).
"It's really good. You say this is low fat, but it tastes exactly like regular pizza," said one student.
"I love it. It's really good," added another.
Several even said they would buy it were it less expensive (a Pizza Hut in Tyler sells its 14-inch Fit 'N Delicious pizzas for $14.99, and two for $24.89.)
"It tastes good. I would buy it. It's just like a regular pizza," said one student.
Another student added, "I'm not a pizza authority on it, but it tastes very good."
The report concluded that the students said they most likely would buy regular pizza, but that they believed those watching their waistlines would like Fit 'N Delicious pizzas.
