Cottage Inn to serve pizza during NASCAR weekends

Ann Arbor, Mich.-based Cottage Inn will bake and deliver pizzas on site during Michigan International Speedway's NASCAR weekends.

The Cottage Inn products will be available on race day, as well as through the night, to the nearly 9,000 campsites on the MIS property.

"We're doing cool things that have never been done in NASCAR," said Roger Curtis, MIS president. "Cottage Inn is not only going to bake fresh pizzas for our fans in the New Holland Fan Plaza on race weekends as a restaurant, but also for our campers as part of a pizza delivery service. This is a first for sports."

Cottage Inn will have five ovens on site, including operating out of the permanent former Brooklyn Pizza concession stand.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for us," said Bob Brosnahan, CEO of Cottage Inn. "We are in growth-mode here in Southeastern Michigan. We have over 50 stores system-wide. We want to grow and we have the systems in place to do that. And the exposure here and the opportunity to brand here at Michigan International Speedway with all the great NASCAR fans is an unbelievable opportunity for us."

Pies will be available for purchase throughout the night. Cottage Inn will circle the campground in specially marked vehicles, delivering directly to campsites.

At 9,000 campsites, MIS has one of the largest campground populations of the NASCAR-sanctioned racetracks. Brosnahan said it will be a challenge, but the company is excited about the added volume.
