LOS ANGELES -- California Pizza Kitchen Inc. (CPKI: Nasdaq) reaffirmed revenue gains and increased comparable store sales for the first quarter 2002.
Net income was up 13 percent to $3.7 million, on revenues of $70.2 million.
During the same quarter last year, net income was $3.3 million on revenues of $57 million.
Same-store sales at its 103 company-owned stores increased 2.7 percent over the same period last year, but in a March release CPK attributed much of the gain to increased menu prices. Per-store sales average for the quarter was $54,420.
The company does not report sales at its 29 franchised stores.
Earnings per share were 20 cents, compared to 18 cents for the same period last year.
