Customer feedback platform fights fake reviews

A new platform has launched to combat fake customer reviews on the Internet. The iTrueReview system is a reversal of the opt-in review process, and instead keeps the review capture responsibility with the business, according to a company news release.

Customers who would normally not share their experiences are encouraged to do so as part of their engagement with wait-staff. Customers do not have to leave their full name, but if they do, their reviews will be tied to several different online places, which include their Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare accounts.

Customers cannot leave a review using this system unless they are on-site, eliminating fake, filtered and non-recommended reviews, the release said.
