LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Yum! Brands Inc. today reported that same-store sales at its U.S. Pizza Hut corporate units rose 4 percent for the four-week period ended Dec. 27, 2003.
According to a news release, during the same period last year, sales at those units slipped 4 percent.
For its fourth quarter 2003, sales at Pizza Hut corporate units—which make up about 23 percent of its domestic system—were flat.
Estimated international system sales, made up largely of blended Pizza Hut and KFC unit sales, increased 9 percent prior to foreign currency conversion to U.S. dollars, 18 percent after conversion.
