Pizza Hut Inc. is planning to increase its presence in western China within the next two years.
Specifically, the chain will invest up to CNY 30 million ($4.5 million) in Lanzhou, in the northwest region of the country. Already this year, Pizza Hut has opened more than 50 outlets in western China.
Additionally, the company plans to expedite its growth in inland cities throughout the country. It opened its 500th outlet there this week.
Pizza Hut’s parent company Yum! Brands has a strong – and growing – presence in China that includes 3,000 KFC outlets in more than 650 cities.
