Domino's Australia kicks off the year with healthier ingredients

Jan. 15, 2012

Domino's Pizza Australia has rolled out products using slimmer mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.

According to Franchise.net, the company has committed to using mozzarella cheese with 30 percent less fat, and pepperoni with 34 percent less fat than what it was using last year.

To mark the rollout of these new ingredients, Stefaan Codron, head development chef for Domino's Australia, has created the Cheesier Pepperoni and Prawn Supreme pizzas.

From the story:

"Tasty doesn't have to mean high fat, nor does low fat have to be bland. We have proven this in the development of our 30 percent lower fat mozzarella and 34 percent lower fat pepperoni," said Domino's CEO Don Meij. "Both of these new ingredients taste far better than they did 12 months ago and the added benefit is they are better for you too."
